Join W4AQL

Membership and Benefits

Membership in the Georgia Tech Amateur Radio Club is open to students of the Georgia Institute of Technology. When you become a member, you then receive access to the various functions of our repeater, operating privileges in our shack, and the opportunity to provide input to the future direction of W4AQL. Annual dues for members are $24.

Additionally, associate membership is open to all others in the Georgia Tech community, including faculty, staff, and alumni. Associate members enjoy all the same benefits and privileges of student members, except for the ability to vote at meetings or hold officer positions. Annual dues for associate members are $33.

After one semester in the club, you may check out a key to the shack so that you can operate in between classes or at night, when there wouldn't be anyone else at the shack. The deposit for a key loan is $50, refundable upon return of the key.

Members are also eligible to borrow certain equipment from the club.

How to Join

If you are interested in joining, please feel free to come by one of our meetings or open shack events (check the calendar at the bottom of our home page for the latest schedule). We'll introduce you to the rest of the club, show you how to use the various equipment in the shack, and answer any questions you may have. When you're ready to join, tell an officer and give them your dues, and they will get you registered with the club.
